17 Years Later...

I can't believe it has been 17 years since the worst day of my life. On August 27, 1991 my older sister, Lisa, died in a four wheeler accident. She was 12- almost 13 and I was 9. I can remember almost every detail of that horrible day. There hasn't been a day in 17 years I haven't thought about my sister. They say time heals all wounds, but I think this wound will always be raw.

Tonight, we will have Cherry Cheesecake in her honor. That was her favorite dessert. While we won't be celebrating what happened on this awful day 17 years ago, we will be celebrating Lisa's too short life and our memories of her.

I Love You, Sissy.

Wow, I cannot believe it's been 17 years. I can't imagine what your family went through that day and the years that followed. Being a parent now, it seems impossible to even survive the loss of a child. My heart goes out to your parents; I don't know how they did it. I think it's great that you guys eat cherry cheesecake to honor her.

I miss her to! I remember that my mom forgot to come get me for her funeral. I sat on the front porch waiting and crying dressed in my church clothes. She felt awful when she got home and saw me sitting there..realizing she forgot. Tell your parents I said Hello. I love and miss you all!
