This weekend was Atomic Days in Arco. It's a fun little celebration they have every year. They have a parade that starts out with a plane flying extremely low overhead and dropping ping pong balls on the street. All the kids run and get the balls and then when the parade is over they can take them to the Sheriff's Office and get a fifty cent piece for every ball they got. After that, we head to the park for food and games. There's always a big softball tournament, a mud volleyball tournament, and a horse shoe tournament for the adults. At night, there's always a big rodeo. So, Jaxon decides he wants to do the Mutton Bustin' at the rodeo. All of the other kids are there in there boots and wranglers with their cowboy shirts and hats. Well, Jaxon shows up in gym shorts and a tank top with sandals- and wins it! This was his first time ever riding a sheep and he was a little nervous when he actually got there, but Papa Steve was in the pen with him and told him he wouldn't let him get hurt. His first ride was great. He rode until the whistle and got 90 points! Then, he had to do a "ride off" in the actual rodeo for first place. That time he got too far up on the sheep's neck and the sheep rolled him pretty hard, but he just jumped up. He got 77 points for that ride! He won a pretty nice belt buckle and a new love for the rodeo. We are going to have to try and find some more rodeo's- he's hooked!
** Watch the sheep on the second ride. He rolls so hard he thinks he's dead and throws his legs straight up in the air. We keep watching that over and over and laughing our heads off! :)

There was a chef demo featuring 101 recipes with Walla Walla sweet onions! We only got through like 2 but its was fun:) I'm diggin the ping pong ball thing! I hope you brought a BIG purse so your kids could shove as many in as they could fit! CHA CHING! You guys should sell that big house on the hill and make a wad of cash, then move to Arco:)Sounds good to me!
