Skyline Wrestling Tournament 2009

We took Jaxon to a wrestling tournament at Skyline High School this last weekend and he did great! It's so fun to watch him wrestle! We're proud of him and how hard he works to get better. Most people don't understand why we spend so much time taking Jaxon to wrestling practice and why we commit every Saturday to a wrestling tournament for 2 1/2 months, but this is why! To watch your kid excel at something that he loves makes it worth all the sacrifice and hours put in!

This is Jaxon sitting on the mat waiting for a match to get over so he can wrestle. He just sits there cool as can be and meanwhile I feel like I'm going to throw up because I'm so nervous!

Jaxon feelin' good after winning a tough match!

These pictures are actually posted backwards... This is Jaxon after he won the match.

Jaxon pinning the kid using one of his favorite moves...the corkscrew.

Shaking hands and getting ready to wrestle.
Here's some video of one of Jaxon's matches. This is actually one of the easier matches he had. Freestyle wrestling has different rules and different scoring than Folkstyle wrestling (high school wrestling.) In freestyle if you get six more points than your opponent than you win the round. If you win two rounds, then you win the match. That's what happened in this match- Jaxon beat the kid 6-0 both rounds. Jaxon's in the red.....
